what I believe HD is calling the "speed volume" (where the audio volume raises & lowers with your speed) isn't working on my 2014 street glide special. it seems pretty clear how it works but maybe i'm doing something wrong. has anyone else had problems?
Many are having AVC issues. Many threads have discussed and I have found that it works very subtle, not as smoothly as Harmon Kardon radio. It is so subtle, that I was convinced it was not working ,too. But many responses said that Theirs worked. So I tried to listen carefully and there is a change. Not an adequate change, for My ears, but, there is a change.Hopefully software engineers are working on a noticeable change.
I haven't been happy with mine at all. I was actually hoping the volume would lower when coming to a stop. How can I shut it off? Do I just bring the level to 0?
I didn't think it was working on my '14 SGS, at all but I think it just does not control the volume as well as it has in past years. I hear a noticeable increase in volume at about 25 mph but only seems like 1 large jump in volume, and the decrease in volume is at about 5 mph or just about stopped and seems to just drop to a lower volume, not a stepped increase or decrease in volume. I have the AVC setting at the highest of the 4 settings.
Had mine out and noticed the same thing. My 07 worked fine. With the 2014, I know what on and off is. What do the settings mean? 1/4 to 4/4? Is 4/4 supposed to provide max speed difference?? Is it me or do the instructions/manual suck?

I've noticed on my SGS, that there IS a small difference in the amount of compensation depending on which level I have selected, but almost all of it happens the minute you let out the clutch. I wish it was more linear over a greater speed range.
Just had mine fixed as well as the CB not being recognized on my 2014 FLHXS. The fix was to complete wipe the software and re-load. It works like a charm now. That is something you should not pay for either. Do not let dealer tell you that they cannot fix or some lame excuse like it happens on the old ones. This is new technology.

That seems odd. I just had my 1,000 mi service done a couple of weeks ago. Told the service mgr that the AVC wasn't working. He said they reloaded the SW, still 17.4, and no change to the AVC.
