Default Engine temp.?

So, since installing a power vision, I've been monitoring my engine temp.,
And I'm curious as to what temps I should expect to see...
It's general 90*+ out when I'm riding, sometimes stop and go traffic,
Just looking for a round about avg I should expect to see for engine temperature. I've bounced from 225-250 while riding, and upwards into the 290's in stop and go traffic. Again, keep in mind it's 90-95* outside and I'm in the direct sun.
Any input is appreciated!

Normal. One thing I've learned about my power vision is to not be paranoid about engine temps. Just ride and enjoy

I read somewhere 275 is normal engine temp in warm weather. So 290 or even higher in stop and go traffic seems normal to me. Most people monitor oil temp because it can be done with a temp dipstick.

Those numbers, while normal, are disappointing to me. My last ride had a 120R and a set of Ward's fans and never ran hotter than 240˚ in even the hottest weather. Granted, it had a good power tune.

I kinda thought with the wet heads, these high temps would be a thing of the past.

I'll be getting another Power Vision soon and hoping a richer tune (and disposing of the cat) will cool things down.

He has a FLHX so no wethead for extra cooling. You may find your engine temps are cooler and should be with the CVO since you do get the benefit of the water cooling exhaust ports. But then again you have 7 more cubic inches of motor so they may run even hotter. I would be interested to know what the engine temps are on the 110" with water cooling system.

I'll let you know when I get my PV, but could be a few months. Suffering those "just got a new bike, so ain't got no money" blues.

My oil temp gauge rarely goes over 250, air cooled motor. Usually runs 225/235.

Ok, good to know.... It gets hot down here in chuck town. It was fairly hot out during my last auto tune session with the power vision. I'm thinking I may take it on a tuning session when it's cooler out so that I get a slightly richer tune,.

I monitor my engine temp with powervision also. 90 degrees out today and ride 75 mph on the freeway, i was at about 285 degrees. But my oil temp gauge showed 200. Normally at 70 something degree weather I'm at about 260-270 degrees. Curious as to what others get. I have Bassani RR 2into1 and FM billet AC, and PV tuner.
