Default Eitms 'disabled'

today was a little warm and out riding, checked the info button to see temp, and it shows EITMS Disabled...
as i recall before, when checking, it would first show, Disabled, then switch display to ENABLED, and then ACTIVE if it i am at a stop, the ambient air temp, and engine temp met the criteria to be active... now it just says DISABLED all the time...
did i or the dealer do somthing to it to deactivate it?
is there a procedure to re-activate it?

Sounds like someone disabled it. You can turn it on in the menu. It should say enabled and then active once it engages.

Turing the throttle forward will turn off the EITMS. I must do that without even knowing. I've found mine to be disabled a couple of times.

With the ignition on, roll the throttle forward and hold it, you'll see the cruise control light turn green (if you're currently "disabled.") Now you're "enabled." Repeat, and you'll see the light turn orange, now you're "disabled" again. That's how you turn it on or off.

from some product literature:

When you are stopped and at idle, simply push the throttle forward (closed) to roll off position and hold. After approximately 3 seconds, the cruise control indicator will flash either red (disabled) or green (enabled). Repeat the procedure to toggle between the two.

Thanks everyone for the quick replys... I knew about rolling the throttle forward to turn off the cruise control... must have held it too long, or relaxing my throttle hand by rolling forward and holding and de-activated it with out realizing what i had done... got it back to enabled following above procedures.
makes me think back now the other day, the cruise control light was flashing orange/green while at a stop... must have been trying to remind me i had disabled it..

My manual says the EITMS is to kick in at 284 degrees but I"ve noticed it is kicking in at around 250 degrees is there a way to change the setting or do you have to disable it?

I was under the impression that '14's work off ambient temp. (80*) rather then the engine temp. I heard it on the internet, so it must be true.
