I don't see much of an aftermarket storage kit since it would require removing the fairing and cutting it up to get to the empty space behind the panel.

The after market could just produce a new inside trim panel with storage on both sides of the radio instead of just removing the fairing and cutting it up.
Mine has CB and lighter fit fine. I think in order to use it for storage you'd have to form some kind of box??? Might not be room for that, but lighter fit!
