The Ness Big sucker is probably about the same size as the SE but it doesn't use the hoses to route oil out to the filter....where it eventually can and usually will drop down on the timer cover. It uses banjo bolts eliminating leaks, even on those really hot days. IMHO a better design.
I hope the S/E does not have any hoses, because if it does I forgot to put them on. The only difference that I am aware of, the Arlen Ness is easier to install because you do not need to remove the induction module bracket, where as on the S/E you do. And of course the filter material but filter size over all I think is the same.

I could be remembering wrong, but I know that on my 09 Ultra with the SE, it would have oil blow-by where I've not had that on my 14 or with an 04 RK that both ran Ness...

Novice here please help... So on the big sucker no hoses to run? Also are there any spacers to remove from the stock cover? the instructions that came with it are barely legible.

The amount of blow-by is quite often a direct result of the break-in process followed.
I have never had a blow-by issue on any but 1 of my 6 Harleys, and that one I follow the MOCO's break-in procedure.
I have a 2014 Street Glide, are there any hoses to disconnect/reconnect?
Just received my Ness big sucker today plan on having at her tomorrow.
Sorry if this sounds like a stupid question just want to be sure.

You disconnect the blow by hose but you don't reconnect/use it with the Ness setup. Very easy install, you'll see.

Just a couple hoses to disconnect but not reconnect. The backing plate has ridges to help guide the blow by oil into the throttle body. Watch a few YouTube vids to get a better idea. It's all gravy
Thanks all for the replies, it was an easy install just was nervous taking apart my baby. I'm running DNA megaphones for now and they sound great I will be investing in a set of Vance and Hines very soon
Flashed the bike after the big sucker install today using the FP3
Runs great except I'm getting this pinging now what is that and how do I stop it?
