My 2014 Ultra Limited is bone stock regarding intake & exhaust. I've been thinking about slip on mufflers and Screaming Eagle air filter but don't want anymore racket. Already have tinnitus issues in the ears. I am willing to get a tuner (FP3 or PC) to compliment the changes.
What do you guys recommend for a really quiet exhaust that would be an upgrade from stock?? There aren't any 'bike nights' around here to lisetn to alternatives.
After doing Twin Slash Rounds (which I liked a lot), a Pro Pipe (which was way too annoying and drove me back to the stock exhaust), I ended up keeping the stock head pipe and installing Screamin' Eagle Street Cannons. I'm very happy with the results as far as performance and sound. I used my FP3 for all of them. YMMV
The Screamin Eagle High Flow exhaust system is a free flowing EPA compliant (CATs in the mufflers) system, full 2" even the crossunder pipe. Very easy on the ears.
I had a set of 4" Rineharts on my 09 EG Classic for 5 yrs and liked the sound.I put them on my 14 Street Glide and found them to be too loud.So I ran the stock slip ons for 3 summers.Last year I saw that Rinehart had a Quiet Baffle.Installed it late last summer and love the sound.A bit louder than stock and a lower rumble.
My 2 cents, as I also have hearing issues. Stock bike, tried SE Street Canons - honestly they were too loud for me, especially when you got on it. Sold them and after speaking with my indy mechanic, he suggested CVO slip ons of which he had a used pair. Tried them out for a few weeks, and they are great. Note is a little deeper and richer then stock but no louder. Clearly all this is subjective.....
One other item to note: I wear custom ear plugs when ever I ride (-15Db). I can still hear but wind noise is way lower. GL what ever way you go.
I run Supertrapps on my last three bikes , Great Performance with out being loud ,, I hope the chart below helps , If you have any question feel free to send me a pm.
I agree on the SE Street Cannons. I don't like loud exhausts but the Street Cannons (for me) are perfect because they just change the "note" to more of a rumble but still aren't loud or obnoxious at all.
