Putting the canned stage1 tune on was very easy. I just installed the software on my laptop, hooked the USB cable from the tuner to the laptop, then the cable from the tuner to the bike.
Turned the ignition on and followed the prompts, put my bike specs in and chose the stage1 tune and installed it. I do not plan on using autotune at this time because my bike runs great with the canned tune. There are advanced features that are more complicated and time consuming that I have not used.
I saved time and money by doing it myself. If you are talking about the training classes on the Harley website, yeah I went through those pretty quickly. They are helpful especially if you have no idea how everything works (e.g. open loop vs closed loop). I was a auto mechanic for 17 years so that helped.
If I make further mods down the road I will be using those but I think I will leave the bike as is.
M8, tell me about your windshield. Which one is it? How tall? Do you have buffeting issues?
It is the HD model below. I still get a lot of wind and noise. I got a lot less wind and noise on my Road King. Maybe a taller/wider one would be better. It's better than nothing though. Wind Splitter Quick-Release Compact 18 in. WindshieldPart Number 57400327$394.95
finaly got around to taking a few pics , of my bike , im not computer savy so it took a while to figure how to install pic on my pc .going with the willie G theme so,i got the derby cover gas cap covers, timing cover and front n rear axle covers . next up is the foot pegs . the seat is a saddlemans solo (obviously ) a lil stiff but with time it will break in , I love the seat you fall right in and you dont move around ,which helps at high speeds .
just another pic . i got the RCX slip ons from a member here, to hold me through till i can get the pipes i really want. i took off the rear pegs . and installed some signal covers and brake light cover ,still got a lot to go before im done with this bike .

I installed a memphis shades 17" slim and still had a lot of wind and noise. Installed these lowers and after playing with the adjustment angles, the noise and wind are all but eliminated.
