Also interested in the 4 inch fat curved bar risers to the sport glide. ? cable kit or re route stock. Lots of confusion at parts department dealer
most seem to think you need new cables and no kit available

You do NOT need new cables for the 4” pullback risers. It doesn’t look like a difficult install, but I had the dealer do it while it was in the shop for something else. He did run the clutch cable to the outside for more slack, and as previously stated you can’t reuse the stock bar and shield clamp.

An easy DIY job. Make sure you protect your tank with some padding. The cables do not need to be replaced, but reroute them to the front of your handle bars for more slack.

I installed the 6” risers and had to replace the brake cable with the one used on the heritage - clutch cable ok. I still need about 2” pull in. Looking at bar options.

Just follow the cable down to the pod that's clipped top and bottom to the left frame downtube. Pop off the top clamp (you can leave the one below the pod), slide the sheath of the pod up, revealing the connection between the top and bottom of the cable. Use the tip of the clip you just pulled off, or a screwdriver, to push out the red plastic clip that holds the top cable-end stationary - tension released.

Sorry to resurrect old threat - but I'm thinking of putting on the 4" risers as well.. looked at these https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...-09-5626909--1
"Curved Pull Back Fat Riser Part Number 56269-09"

Is this really all I need? Looking at the instructions it states
"Proper installation of this kit requires the prior or concurrent installation of an appropriate Harley-Davidson 1-1/4 inch handlebar kit"

What is this separate handlebar kit that the instructions require?

the top 2 reviewers on that link, who own sport glides, say they used stock cables and wires.

-put a towel over your tank and fender
-take off the stock risers
-install the new risers
-bolt the clamps on the bars

that should be it... 15 minutes.

(remember, harley wants to sell you everything you are willing to buy)

You don’t need anything else for the Sport Glide. You’ll lose the bar and shield clamp and you’ll need to move the clutch cable to the opposite side of the handlebar, but the kit has all the parts you need.

Yeah, what he said - the clutch cable needs moving. Otherwise, no problem.
