Here is a Heritage where I've added more chrome to balance it out. It's all your own personnel taste.
I have the same wheels on my bike too. I like the looks a lot better than the spoke wheels. Also it feels to me like the additional mass of the wheels makes the front end feel more stable. It felt a little wobbly at higher speeds before I changed the wheels.

I'm not sure you'll ever "fix" the buffeting issue on your bike. I will tell you that the best combo I've found was the stock shield and the pre '18 fangs drilled out to fit our bike. Mine touched the standard HD engine guard, but having a mustache guard I'm pretty sure would stop that. I'm not crazy about the way those look and prefer the more traditional look. With that being said, they didn't touch a lot but they do touch and will caused wear and tear on your engine guard. I also wonder about how much cooling air gets diverted from the motor using them.

I've put a Reckless fairing and a set of eBay lowers on my bike and while almost as good as the stock shield and fangs, there is still buffeting. It's doable but I'm sure we all have different tolerances. I came off my 4th Gold Wing to this so I'm used to much calmer air. LOL

If you are considering the HD back rest and rack for your wife, you should consider a Viking trunk and two up rack. Easily removable, great support for the wife, and cheaper than the HD rest/rack combo. An added plus is that with what you save, not only can you take the wife shopping, but you can secure your helmets while doing it and you have added space for her stuff.

My thoughts on your questions. It works for me right now....

I run FirstGear/Warm & Safe heated clothing. It sounds like you're thinking of using the SAE connector? I'd say don't, it's not made to run the amperage that the heated clothing draws. Just go ahead and mount the coax harness directly to the battery, that's what I did. A little bit of a pain in the patoot, but it's the right way to do it.

No. Just the opposite. As I mentioned, I don't use the SAE connector on my Nightster. I use the coax connector provided by Warm & Safe. I would do the same on the Heritage. I would suspect that two would be needed and was wondering where I would route both.

My initial thinking was to go with something like the HD HoldFast Sissy Bar, the associated luggage rack and a large sissy bar bag like this...

https://www.vikingbags.com/classic-l...sy-bar-bag.htm

Seems like such a system would be pretty versatile. Then I got to thinking... First, you'd have to install the luggage rack on the sissy bar. Once installed, it would stay that way. So on shorter outings, the luggage rack would be there even if you didn't need it. Next, what about on long trips - how well would it work? I can imagine that we'd stop at various points of interest along our travels on any given day. What do you do with that big sissy bar bag then? It's not really secured to the bike. Seems like a risk. So now I'm considering a travel pack (where it got no consideration before). At least a travel pack would be affixed to the bike and would be a bit more secure. I certainly wouldn't want the travel pack installed when it wasn't absolutely needed. Perhaps a combination of the sissy bar (with no luggage rack) for short outings and the tour pack for longer trips.

I've looked at the Viking tour pack. It's slightly bigger. Don't know about it's build quality. Aesthetically, I'm not too taken by it. One thing that rubs me about it is the lid's edges. They look unfinished to me. I know the HD tour pack has been reported to have some problems. Mainly rivets inside and the leather coming unglued where it wraps around the lid edge. However, it's the better looking option between to two in my opinion and I might be inclined to go with it anyway. The problems it has can probably be dealt with.

Thinking about the engine guard and highway peg situation. I'm thinking with replacing the black engine guard with a chrome one. I haven't yet determined what my reach needs are going to be (haven't had time to play with the bike since I got it home). But the basic thinking is that the reach will need to be reduced. I've considered the mustache bar. Not sure if there would still be a reach problem, but I kinda of doubt it. Don't know that I care for it's looks though. Haven't done any research into the question but imagine that soft lowers would be more effective on a regular engine guard. Don't know if soft lowers will ever be needed, but the option would be nice. I've looking around for different adjustable highway peg mounts. Maybe something like these Rivco mounts...

My "Cherry" is also a '18 Twisted Cherry FLHC with the M8-107 and was Pin Striped by Brody.

Lets see if I can remember all the mods I made:

Iso Grips, Rox HB pivoting Risers, Lowered front and rear with H-D Low Profile Suspension, H-D Reach Seat modified by Mean City Cyles for added comfort, Circulator seat pads for both rider and passenger, 15" Freedom Recurve Windshield (abosolute must to reduce Helmet wind buffeting), Chrome 2017 Deluxe Fangs ( yeah the pointy ones drilled to match the '18 mounting bolt spacing and again an absolute must to reduce overall wind buffeting), Stage I Screaming Eagle Oval A/C Breather w/ K&N filter and an oil catch can, Rineheart Slip-ons, Custom Dynamics LED Turn Signals and Tail light with triple play module and all smoked lenses, Black Curved Laydown License Plate Frame, H-D Mustache Engine Guard and Saddlebag guards, Engine guard mounted Highway pegs, modified 2017 Deluxe Passenger Foot boards (now you can get ones designed for the '18), H-D quick disconnect short sissy bar w/ back rest and luggage rack, replaced H-D fugly saddlebags with Letherpro XL Classic Saddlebags and added a Leatherpro Tour-Bag, Wolo Air Horn, INNOVV K-2 Front and Rear Camera system, replaced stock mirrors w/ larger oval mirrors on mirror extensions (much better visibility to the rear), Handlebar mounted RAM Large phone holder and a Ciro Cup holder, VisionX engine guard mounted very bright LED driving lights and some inexspensive LED down lighting, and lastly, a rear left side saddle bag guard mouned custom made leather puuch for a H-D Jiffy Stand Puck. Wow, I think that is everything. Oops, almost forgot, I have two homemade brackets mounted to the luggage rack, one each side of the tour-bag, that I have flag masts mounted on and I fly an American Flag and my State - Florida - flag.

The Battery tender hook-up wire is located under (or protudes from under) the left side cover and I keep it on a tender whenever the bike is parked under my carport. I also have the H-D Pro-Street Tuner as it was needed when I did the Stage I A/C Breather upgrade.

Oh, yes, I just got her a stable mate "Big Sister", a '19 FLHXS.
