Check engine, no codes
So I was ending a 2k mile road trip this last weekend and my softail slim did something odd. I was riding along, probably 65mph and in 6th gear 2200 RPM, all the sudden no power. Check engine light came on. I could shift gears and rev but turning the throttle in gear did nothing. I pulled over (lucky there was a shoulder) cycled the power and it started right up no issues. Rode it all the way home without another issue. I checked for codes and none are displayed in the Diagnostics menu. Just a bunch of Ns next to all the modules. Kind of curious what could have caused this? I've never had a bike do this, nor can I think of anything that would cause these symptoms. It was almost like my clutch wasn't engaging, or like the clutch springs were stuck. However, cycling the power wouldn't fix that. I've heard of "limp mode" but I'm uncertain what I did to put it into that position. I was cruising along with cruise control on and not pushing the bike in the slightest. Does anyone have any tips? I have to be honest, trying to keep my cool, but I'm not thrilled my bike just killed power in the middle of NYC highway traffic. I have owned a lot of bikes, and never has any of them done anything like this before.
