Currently looking at changing out the front wheel on my 2019 FXBB Street Bob but having trouble finding some information. Are the new softails all 'wide glide' front ends or is my bike still considered a mid glide like the older street bobs?
Found a black 21" wheel off an FXDWG but I'm only looking at doing the swap if it's going to be fairly straight forward, don't mind having to get new bearings and spacers but I'm not interested in machining down the hub.
Any information would be much appreciated.
I think the narrow glide type front ends finished in 06 ,they're all mid or wide now. If you go wider you'll need a bit of kit too. Let us know how you go.Some of the boys have been blacking out the fork between the triple trees and it looks good.More like a slim's front end.
My low rider is the same fork width as the Dyna mid glide forks. I expect yours is too. Definitely not wide.
Thanks mate, I was thinking that was the case but my bike is sitting next to a narrow glide and the difference looks huge so I wasn't sure...
I have found a bit more info, apparently the wheel hub off the wide glide is 6 1/4" to the rotor mounting surface, I've only got 6 1/6" total between the fork legs so there's no chance.

Peace.
I've blacked out that bit already, think it looks great. I'd love to have black chrome fork tubes and lose the gaitors but can't justify that expense. I definitely don't want to go wider in the front end, would just like to go to a 21" wheel.
