Default Beginning point for belt adjustment 2018 Softail.

Was checking the service manual for my 2018 Softail today and looking for a clarification. The question has come up when adjusting the belt tension do you start at the tightest point in the belt or the loosest point in the belt before making the belt tension adjustment. The service manual gives no clarification as to which point to start with so what do you guys think?

Set the belt tension at the tightest point of the belt , pulleys are not always round and could be slightly offset when bolted downas well.

Peace.

Yeah I used the tightest point in the belt for the belt adjustment. This gives me anywhere between 1/2 to 5/8 of an inch deflection depending on which point of the belt I take the measurement at.
