This is good information, thanks for posting. I have white/cloudy stains on mine as well, I assume were from the wheel cleaners I have tried on my wheels(Ive tried a couple different brands that claim to be safe for all aluminum wheels-clear coated or not). Ive thought about grabbing a bottle of White Diamond several times- they sell it at Walmart where I live- but wondered if it was safe for the fatboy wheels. Now I know I can give it try
I'm more than happy with it,when applying it the white diamond starts off very runny and looks like milk, when applied to aluminium it's goes very dark almost black while you work it into the metal,it take very little effort and you don't need on your cloths,I just wrapped a piece of cloth around the end off my finger and applied it this way and I could treat the exact area I intended.
I tried it on Chrome aswell and yet again it's very good and easy to work with but it doesn't go black when used,I guess this is the nature of using it on aluminium.
Just make sure your cloth you use to buff off with is clean to remove all of the product.
The only advice i can give is stay away from the hd towelletes. Theyre aweful. I just wax my wheels and clean em w soap and water and ive been good for 2 seasons. I have an 18

I will wax mine once I get a bike lift, not much fun doing it on the floor.
Sorry for the delayed reply... I guess for me it was fun because my pup would sit in my lap.. lol.. His name is Harley, what else should I have expected..
