Default How to mount Passenger Footpegs

Hey all,
i recently bought the original Footpeg Mounts for my 2019 Softail (https://www.harley-davidson.com/stor...07-50500769--1). Now I ask myself how to install the left side on the bike. On the website is an installation guide but it more or less just describes how to install the right side, which is very clear, because between the exhausts there is an specific spot to mount them (mat metal spot).
On the left side I can't find a clear place where they have to be mounted. There are 2 plastic caps in the frame which could be a possible spot to mount it but it would be on a nicely painted metal surface and i can't imagine that that would be the right way (it would definitely damage the surface if i remove the footpegs later on).

Does anyone know how to install them or even have a picture of how it should look like?

Thanks!

Edit: I attached a picture of the place where I think the Footpegs mounts has to be mounted ( I think the lower one).

On my 2018 Fat Bob my stock passenger foot peg was mounted in the lower of the two holes in your picture. It has a cut out in on the mount that allows it to sit up against the swing arm nut and doesn't allow it to turn.

I since moved it up because I replaced my stock exhaust and the right side peg mounted on the exhaust mount. So I had to move it up to the higher hole on the right side as well. Now they are a bit uneven but it doesn't bother my occasional passenger.

In the pic I circled the cut out on the peg mount and how it would sit on the lower hole against the swing arm nut. Not sure if your peg mount has this cut out or not. Hopefully this will be helpful. If not I apologize.

Nice! Yeah that makes sence to me. I will try that and probably put a rubber piece between the two metal surfaces to prevent scratches in the actual frame! Thank you!

Must be an "either-or" kind of thing. The Sport Glide uses the upper mounting hole for passenger pegs. The lower holes are used for the side case mount on the left side, and the muffler mount (and side case mount) on the right side.
