I used a flat smooth file on the aluminum of the hub,(draw filing). I used a small oilstone on the disc.

Mine does the same thing. Really obnoxious when you're rolling up to a stop light.

YES, and a distraction when you are in traffic and need to be fully focused on situational awareness.

I still have the problem. It kind of goes away if I've been on the highway for a little while. When I get off the highway and stop at a red light, the noise is barely there. However, the noise comes back in full force very quickly.

I'm reluctant to take the bike to a dealership because I fear it would be a waste of time. I'm going to live with the noise for a little longer to see if it'll go away. It it does not, then I'll look into trying to do something about it myself. I don't know anything about removing brake pads and rotors though. The extent of my meager mechanical skills is changing the oil on my car.

As Tozco said, this noise really takes the fun out of riding.

And I also explained how to banish the noise for ever.

I wonder if this is the same low speed sound prevalent among 2018+ softails in other threads. In the other threads I am talking about, it looks like they are zeroing in on the belt and rear wheel aligement as causes for the wah wah wah sound.

Doubt that this is the answer. The moan 'n groan comes from the front brake.

Finally got rid of the noise completely by installing a set of LRB pads. Zero noise, and much better stopping power to boot.

I have lost all faith that the dealer or HD can address and fix the front brake moaning problem; it is getting worse, not better, after the 1k miles service. But, I found a video on You Tube that is right on point, particularly if your bike/brakes are new. It recommends and shows how to apply Permatex 24129 Silicone Brake Parts Lubricant to the metal side of the brake pads and the retaining pin(s) that holds it/them in place. Anyone tried this fix?

The Permatex lubricant is available on-line from Amazon for only about $8, delivered. Ordered some today and will let you know how it works. I want to try this possible solution before spending the money to replaced the brake pads.
