For you guys who run these larger shields,...doesn't it get too hot on hotter days without the wind to cool you down? Just seems like you'd cook between the sun beating down, the freeway heat coming up at you and the motor. I understand there's some wind,...but it seems like with a shield you're creating a convection oven in the rider area. Thoughts?
I have a taller than stock Freedom windshield on my Heritage as I am 6' 3" tall. I do not find that the windshield makes the ride hotter. In fact, in really hot weather (over 105 F) reducing the blast of hot air makes the ride more tolerable. I rode through Needles, California this past summer and it was 121 F.
I wear a riding jacket that lets wind up the sleeves and out through vents in the back. It blocks the sun and wind and helps reduce the heat load on your body.

F that. If its that hot I'm taking the cage and blasting the a/c! But I'm talking about sub 98 weather (normal conditions).
I got a clearview shield - taller and wider than available from HD. The cool thing is it has a vent which can be opened to allow air into the rider zone. It also reduced buffering enough I don't plan to add fangs.

I'm 5'9, 30" inseam, and my 2019 buffeting is terrible. Wear a full-face Shoei RF-1200 and feel like my head is in a paint-shaker above 45mph. Just ordered the JES Fork Wind Deflectors as almost everyone with them says they're fantastic. If that doesn't cut it down enough, I'll probably try a Freedom Shield (19" should be fine).
Well, got the Fangs from JES and it maybe helped the buffeting a little, but now I have a loud rush of air hitting me in the lower legs and then straight up the back of the tank. I guess it’s time for a freedom shield. Stock is 17½” so guessing either their 17 or 19?

Did you mount them to the inside or outside position? I have mine inboard close to the fork legs where they look better and work great.
Got a vented one - nice air flow when hot - not when not.
