Default rear wheel alignment

I am anticipating needing a rear tire soon, and am reading the service manual on alignment of the rear wheel, anyone know where to get the plug set the manual talks about, or a good work around?

Amazon Amazon

I used these with a little modification. They were a little small so I wrapped them with a couple layers of electrical tape and they worked perfect. I also made some plugs for the swing arm pivot bolt out of bolts and marked the centers to measure from.

I’m gong to measure the axles and swingarm holes and have my brother make a set for me on his 3D printer.

My service manual says part # HD-48856-B. Can't these be purchased at the dealer?

In Australia, HD Dealers WILL NOT order or sell any OEM service tools to customers. Hard to believe, but true. Hope you guys in the US aren’t subjected to this BS! Keen to know?

I have $20.00 in my set up. Even if you could get the HD ones they would be expensive.

I don’t think they will here, either. At one time a company called “Kent-Moore” made the service tools for H-D. I used to have the catalog from them, but that catalog only covered the Evo era (that’s how long ago this was).

if you can get the measurements anyone with access to a lathe should be able to make some hole plugs. Otherwise there’s an opportunity for the aftermarket.
