Default M8 Softail Slim - Max rear tyre (tire) width

Just wondering if anyone can help with what tyre width would fit on ‘18+ Softail Slim without modification, on standard rim.

pretty sure 160 would fit no issue but could 170 or 180 be a possibility? Not looking to change tyre profile 80B

thanks

Something you "might" need to consider if you're not installing the tire yourself or having your Indie do it, some HD Dealers won't install non-spec tire sizes. I have to have my Indie install the 250's on my 2014 Breakout. The Dealer will only install a 240.

I'm sure all dealers are different but my local HD dealer did all the work to my bike.
When I was running the stock fender before I went with the Ricks 200er my dealer told me 180 would hit but I could probably do a 170 but it would be close.

Default Rear Tire

So, I am currently waiting for the pieces to come in from the mail. I ordered rear fender struts and a 2018 Sport Glide rear fender for my 2018 Softail slim. Since both are Softail frames and fenders appear to be similar except the sport glide takes a 180-rear tire, I am hoping to simply swap out the fender struts and fender and be able to put a 180-rear tire on with no clearance issues. I will admit even through Ebay the rear fender was pricey, however, it was still way cheaper than the big tire conversion kits you see available.

I will let y'all know what the outcome is when it gets finished.
