Default FXDR tire thread

I'm not due for tires yet but I keep doing these long rides and it won't be long.

What are the tires you've tried outside of standard equipment?

I wouldn't mind something with a rounder/taller profile for handling the corners.

I rode mine in the dirt last week and saw how narrow the contact patch was. With these monster tires you'd figure you are putting down more rubber.

I'm at 5,6xx miles, tomorrow maybe another thousand added.

Smooth ride, grip, and long lasting.

Rounder will give you less contact, I have a Metzeler 260 on my Breakout and it handles better in the corners then the 240 since it is rounder on the oem rim.

I wonder if you could put a 260 on the FXDR instead of the stock 240,I really enjoy the way that fat tire makes the bike handle in the corners
With with inverted forks 19 inch front 240 back this thing is built for curves , I have noticed a line in the middle of my back tire where it looks like it was seemed when it was built
How are your chicken strips I'm at about a good 1/2 inch + on each side

I haven't scraped peg yet on this bike. I stop leaning when I get to my heel. My rear is flattening out so it is becoming a wrestling match to get it over. I want to find a more curved tire that falls over more easily.

I'm at the bottom of my little Harley symbols.

Think I'm going to try Commander 2's. Supposed to last long.

I'm at 6800 miles. I have the little bar starting to show. I don't know if it is a wear bar. I think it is. The front now has that bar showing as well.

They don't look too out of round.

Tires that wear out are the least of my worries, as long as they stick to the track is the most important. I am used to my tires only last a maximum
of 3000km / 2000 miles .

That's fine for a track bike. This is far from it.

Despite Harley's cool promo video which got me wanting one.

I just did 1200 miles in the last 34 hours. I'd like to see 10k + out of a set. If they aren't as sticky I don't mind because I love to powerslide. With that much tire you can always air down some to increase contact patch like at the track.
