Default 2018 fxlr rust issues

I have an 18 lowrider that I got off a guy who won it. When I went to pick it up the whole bike was covered in sawdust and had some very light pitting on the mags in one or 2 places. But for the price I was not concerned the bike was brand new besides being filthy and left in a barn for a year. Had thel 15 miles on it from the dealership.

I get it home clean it up and notice there is some slight rust in screw hole areas on the frame and a small amount of pitting in a couple of spots but nothing terrible. I wax it up and clean up everything i can. Most of the pitting goes away and the rust is not bad.

I have now had the bike a year. I take good care of it always wash and dry it. Constantly waxing and polishing it. Yesterday I washed and dried it. When i pulled it out of the garage today i found a puddle of rust under it when I pulled away.

I know it was sitting water from washing but now I'm concerned. I know the bike sat in a shed uncovered basically next worst thing to it being outside completely but I didn't think it would be this bad. Maybe I'm over reacting but I had a 98 and 92 sportsters and neither ever had rust puddles.
Should I be concerned? Does anyone else have this problem? Thanks

Rust can collect on any bare metal surface, those exposed screw holes are proof. Somebody here recently complained about rust dripping on a belt (I think), it was coming from under the chrome belt guard where metal was exposed from a weld.
You mention sitting water from washing, I rarely wash my bike, I continually detail the bike, sections at a time to keep up with it, usually on rainy days when I'm not riding.
When I do wash the bike I NEVER put it away wet, I blow dry it then go for a ride to heat it up and wind blow the rest of the water off. My bikes always look like new when I trade in or sell, they don't rust.

I found it was from the kickstand area and a drain hole in the bottom of the frame. Will not be washing her with the hose anymore.

I don't think it's caused by being stored. I had the same happen after a wet ride on a week old softail. There are a few holes in the frame / swingarm, which you can poke those aerosol nozzle tubes into. I liberally squirted acf50 in there and stood the bike on newspaper for a day (it will drip). Sorted. Will probably repeat in a year. Took 5 minutes. Acf50 is designed to creep on surfaces, but WD40 may be just as good? I also lift the seat and wipe some over frame joints in there, as this area can get pretty wet from the back wheel. If I am leaving the bike for a week or more in the winter, I also spray some on a cloth and give the engine covers and exhaust a light wipe over (after it's cooled down). On my Enfield, I also do the wheel spokes. Stops any deterioration, takes seconds and doesn't leave any staining after being run and washed.

Sad, but I get a kick out if rust prevention, just as well, living in the UK. I have an old '50s car which probably weighs 10lbs more due to all the treatments inside the chassis and under body! No rust though.
