Normal sound that I hear on my 2018 FLHCS (Heritage 114). Don't notice it every time and don't worry about it.

Even my old Evo Softail used to do that. I don’t hear it as much on my 107 M-8, but I suspect it’s because of better intake silencing on the stock air box on the 107.

Yup, get it on mine from time to time. I assumed it was just some sort of vacuum equalising itself.

Glad you posted this! While I wasn't too worried, I was curious. I figure a motor is just a big air compressor anyway so it was probably normal, I'm just not used to all the sounds these M8's make compared to my old TC88.

I have a 2021 flhcs and it makes the exact same sound when I shut it down. It's normal.

I realize this is an old thread but glad I found it! I just started hearing this when I finished my stage 1 and tuned with the Screamin Eagle Tuner. I just thought it was the Eagle.. you know, Screaming cause we stopped riding.

when I bought my Sport Glide which was my first M8 last year, I had also noticed this noise, I found that funny and didn't bother about it, it did so almost every time, thought it was normal, now on my Heritage I have the same noise but but it's rarer, on the LRS more often but less than on the SG...
the explanation of Hulkss above in the thread is certainly the right one...
