Default Plug the holes left by the seat studs?

Now that I'm pretty certain that the sprung solo seat is here to stay and I'm no going to be using the passenger seat, the next step is to get rid of those thumb nuts and white plastic washers. Only problem will be finding something unobtrusive to cover the slots in the fender left behind after removing them.

Any ideas?

There is an HD accessory that
consists of a small plastic blanking plug thst fits those holes. Just take out the captive nuts and fit two.

You keep seeing everything you put in it, I am incredibly annoyed by it, at my Forty Eight I welded the hole for passenger seat with the TIG and repainted it, it looks like from factory .
That is of course not cheap if you cannot spray and weld yourself.

For me, there are too many much larger “can’t be unseen” issues that take precedence over a couple of slots and a few holes in the rear fender, starting with the frame that looks more like a Yamaha than a Harley. I’ve enumerated them in other posts so I won’t go into them again.

Those are for the "keyhole" holes the threaded insert goes to. I have hole plugs for those already. I'm talking about the .406 x .680 slots left behind after removing the stud plate that rear of the stock solo seat attaches to. As it is, I think I'll design something and see if my brother will make it on his 3D printer.

I have seen a small leather fender cover that goes just between the 2 studs...maybe that would work.

I've seen guys use small, flush-mounted rubber grommets.

It's out of the H-D parts and accessory catalog. Part number 52006-47B. Stock solo seat from the Panhead era 1954 and later. Similar solo seats can be found on eBay. I used the sprung seat mount kit for the Softail Slim to mount it with a custom made bracket. I'm not sure if either is still available from Harley-Davidson anymore. I understand that Mother Road Customs makes a similar setup, but I have no experience with it.

Here's a link to the thread where I describe the installation in more detail. Starts at post #3: Slim seat suggestions - Harley Davidson Forums

Uncle G.: Did you ever figure out a good way to plug the original seat mounting holes?
