I had these and cut up some older (i think dyna) shields to cover the parts i kept melting things on. That said i swapped mine out to cobra 2-1 and gained heat shields, sound I like better and increased performance.

Yea whether it was the Bootlegger, the FP3 or a little of both ? Or you feel that the Bootlegger helped by itself as well as the FP3?

Hard to say what did what. But at the end of the day the tuner will only put out what the exhaust can handle. So in that sense I guess the exhaust would have had the bigger impact.
