I just bought the nylon bags. Well, I didn't just buy them. I bought them a month ago and they arrived a couple days ago.
I chose nylon because they are expandable and they are $160 cheaper than the leather. They look much nicer in person than they do in pictures, methinks. I'm sure the leather bags look even better but I'm happy with the nylon bags.
Thanks for the input everyone! I ended up with the leather bags. To make a long story short, my local HD dealer happens to carry them. I went to the store and asked about the two materials. It turns out he had both nylon and leather on hand. The nylon set was missing some mounting hardware, and I think he felt badly about that because he ended up giving me the leather ones for less than $50 more nylon. It was a win-win for me since I didn't have to wait for a month or so to have them delivered by Leather Pros and I got the leather V3s at a deep discount!

That's cool. I didn't think to check if the dealership over here carried them. Have you put them on yet?
Yes. I put them on the same day I picked them up.I have to say I was pleasantly surprised by just how straight-forward and easy the installation was.
Me too. I heard the stock bolts could be very difficult to remove but they weren't bad at all. And it's nice how easy it is to remove and put the bags on.
