Hi everyone, I have a 2018 FatBoy and dont like the open air filter. I am looking for an air filter that is not open to the outside, but rather facing in as earlier models have, so I dont have to cover with bag every time I wash it. I know HD has an option, but was wondering if any have seen some aftermarket ones that do this?

I just want one that doesn't require a K&N filter. I'm putting together a Stage 2 parts list and that seems to be the stumbling point. Maybe I'm just not searching right, but ffs, some of us don't want oiled filter elements.
The rinehart moto series inverted filters are a good option. Kind of pricey but they are a synthetic material that you don't oil. I hate k&n air filters
K&N do a synthetic filter replacement that is rain proof and not oiled. Not sure how it would hold up to being washed directly but put one on my missus commuter and she rides in the rain all the time, no issues.
On my bike I have the oiled K&N but covered with a rain sock, works perfectly.
Do you just leave the sock on all the time? Seems like a pain to take it off and put it back on all the time. And its not the sturdiest thing, kinda cheaply made.

Yeh mine stays on all the time, I have the S&S mini teardrop air cleaner and the sock goes straight on the filter and the cover goes back over the top so you can hardly even notice it's there
I just ride this bitch without sock rain or shine never had any issues. BTW you can wash OEM filter this is what dealer told me and what I did worked perfect

I've ridden with an exposed air filter in the rain before and it's no beuno. Bike ran like **** because I got water in the carb. Had to pull over and wait for the storm to pass and dry out the filter.
Picture is mine now with the sock. S&S Mini teardrop with rain sock
