This is the best one I’ve seen and will be referring to it for sure. I have the service manual as well.

Big phillips screwdriver between sprockets did the job just fine. good luck with cam replacement!

It's really super easy just buy the right tool Jim's Tool and it will easily pull and set the depth on the new one.

I actually have the Jim’s tool for the cam bearing removal and installation. Bought it from SoCalRider.
It’s virtually fool proof. If you want to purchase it let me know.

Otherwise a few vids on YouTube and a service manual and it’s pretty easy.

I will say the only thing I had a concern with was removing the lifter cover bolts. I had a friend break one off and well you know...lots of cuss words. I used a heat gun to warm them up and took my time with better luck. Ball hex long shaft works best but unfortunately I did not have one. If I had to do it again I would spring for one.

I did also have a leak on the rear exhaust push rod cover initially. Had to push the top of the clip in to seat it better which stopped the leak.

Over all it took about 10 hours. The S&S 475 cam is badass! I just have a flash tune from Fuel Moto and it is pretty good. I definitely will be getting a Dyno tune as well.

Good luck if you take it on. Lots of good resources on this forum as well.

Dyno tune may not be what you think. Most end up throwing it on there only to see if the MAP has any issues and do not set the parameters that need adjusted on the MAP settings.
Just a lil food for thought. MAP it yourself first and then ask that dyno guy he make it better.
