Welcome to the forum,
Did you already mod your speedometer with the holes drilled in the back ? I have a FXFBS and FLFB , both of them are drilled and no more condensation so you could give it a try.

No not yet but I will give it a try with the old one but still would like the option of installing the new one my self I've been told that the ecm stores all the info and adding a new one is plug and play ( when installed the odometer does a count down and at 0 marries to the bike) but harley says no yet all after market units are plug and play
As far that I now is all the info in ECM so I'm 99,9% sure you can install a new one yourself, in the worst case scenario you can do the install and try and if any prog needed you can always go back to the stealer

Well I can confirm that it needs a vin registration, I had a speedometer lying around from a friends bike to do the drill mod and tested it on my FLFB, it works but instead you can see the miles
you already have driven it shows the message VINREG, all the other stuff works.
I also did a test if I can program it with the Memobike 6050 and it does ,so if you know someone who have this device you can do it yourself, if not you have to let the dealer prog it for you.

Depending on the state, if an authorized source does not do the work, your bike became TMU and that deval will be way more than the cost of the swap and your title gets branded
Just did the replacement its all plug and play took 5 minutes ride for 50 k odo b counts down from 50 k to zero and it pairs with the bike now I'm going to drill and test the old one this fall in the humid weather and rain and see what happens
