I know right! But that's what he did. Luckily he kept the passenger seat. I plan on having Mean City re-do the seats anyway, but if would have had to pay for a stock seat, I would have me a bit miffed. I ride alone but I need the passenger seat for luggage since I am the "designated carrier" of such.

I will see what the dealer comes up with regarding the turn signals. They have said they have done something similar before on a softail. Being OCD I asked for sample pictures but they did not have any. We'll see. If I am forced to go with something aftermarket I need to get the measurements on the fork area to be sure when the vendor says "will fit your 2019 Heritage" they know what they are talking about. All that said, I am hoping it all looks good - somehow. Especially since I really would prefer to have the passing lights down low to the road as fog lights. A buddy of mine has that setup on his CVO and it looks great! I may eventually go for a light bar just for the turn signals. Not sure.

I think the dealer came through for me. They sent me this pic the other day and I think it looks awesome. I will see it on Thursday when they deliver.

I think in a year or two, I'll add some fog lights down low on the engine guard when I get that done. That way I can avoid the hassle of trying to locate a light bar and undo what the nice work the dealer seems to have done. Besides, I am thinking I can angle those slightly out to help me locate deer easier at night LOL

At the risk of (good natured) abuse, I’m also thinking of removing the light bar and aux lights.

I tossed up for a good while the choice of another 103 Softail Slim or a 114 Heritage. The Heritage won out as I wanted the hard bags, removable screen, better ground clearance etc, but I love the simplicity, the stripped-back look of the Slim.

On the Heritage with the screen off, I think a single light up front looks so much nicer, so I too am investigating turn signal location.

I might eventually go for a narrow beach bar, so the signals may end up on the handlebar, like with the Slim.

All just thoughts for now, but nice to know I’m not the only one considering it!

(I’m also considering a new paint job, going for a US Navy style pale blue/grey paint and blacking out some of the chrome)

^^^You saw my pic above. The dealer did an excellent job on the turn signal mod on the fork. Close-up pics below. They hid the wiring and used rubber grommets. Nice job!

Since that post, I obviously have had the bike delivered. Turns out, at the last minute, the previous owner actually found the light bar and took it to the dealer. I had a (sort-of) pleasant surprise in the saddlebag. Would have been nice to have that before I had them do all that work on the turn signal mod. Of course, it would have meant purchasing the passing lights because he didn't have those. WTF did he just throw them out?? But now I have a nice paperweight LOL

I do like the look. Since my wife has a 21 Heritage, I am making every effort to make my bike look different than hers. Foot controls, grips, bars - all of it. Once I get the seat done this winter (re-leather, custom stitching etc) the only noticeable similarity will be the saddlebags. And yes, with the silly black rivets they will need to be changed somehow also. Yes, in all fairness, I have to give some credit to the previous owner...He did replace the tank bib for one from a Slim.
