Hello forum, got a question for the collective. Took my Fatboy for a small ride today around the city. When i got home i noticed while idling that the revs jump. What seemed normal was once in nuetral my bike idled around 820-860. Then maybe a second or two later it jumped up to 960-1000. I tried to see if my throttle wasnt rolled on or sticking, and it wasnt. So i blip the throttle it goes down to that 820-860 area, then a second later back up again. Is this common? Has anyone else noticed this? I tried doing a search in this forum and got nada...
You know, I am going to go with that. I didnt even think about that at the time. But giving the fact i was doing a bit of romping on it, and also city stop and goes.... could have very well been hot. Thanks for the responses.
Any thoughts on disabling it? I just got a 2020 Fatboy and I am not sure it will hamper anything leaving it enabled.
First time my RK did it I shut it off, 4 years and hasn't been an issues but I don't sit in heavy traffic like you have to. It's just annoying, never heard of it being an issue for anyone aside from a rare stall.

I'll wait until it kicks in and see how I feel...I rarely sit in traffic but I do not ride every day! I rode it today for about 40 miles, my first real ride since I got it and I love it - the Road Glide should be sold by the end of the week. Beautiful bike but just too heavy for me to get comfortable on with my back problems.
Well On this bike it isnt as bad as on my 09 ultra. I took a trip to mississippi from Maryland and got caught in some knarley traffic. The EITMS kicked in and you could absolutely tell the bike was running on one cylinder. After that trip i bought a set of love jugs for it and never had issues again. But with the M8, it didnt sound different, didnt feel rough, i just saw the idle spike. And once you got rolling everything is fine. So without disabling it, you probably wouldnt even notice if it were on or off.
