interchangeable Softail parts

interchangeable Softail parts
Are all the softail frames the same? i.e. can I take the mounting brackets from a heritage and bolt them up to a sport glide? Anyone done this? It looks like the crash bars bolt up the same too.

Look your part up on the Harley site. Then see what they say it applies to. Older Softails were similar. My 04 has a much later 96TC take off exhaust on it. And the Deuce had a different looking exhaust then most of the line. But a 96TC Nighttrain bolted right up.

Matt Laidlaw runs through the M8 frames in this video. Essentially the only differences between the models are the steering heads and the rear sub frame and swing arms for the fat **** rear ends.
