Newer Heritage - First Impressions
I was coming from a 2002 Wide glide with mini apes. So my first order of business was new bars. I chose 13" Carlini meathooks with a 2" riser. Taking lots of time to compare overall height, spread, pullback; I replicated what I was used to on the WG. I even chose the same grips.
Yes 6th gear is just what I needed! 5 is ok overall, but the WG does work a little hard on the highway. I am still getting used to when to use 6th. Since I kept the WG and didn't trade it in, I will be riding both bikes and will need to pay close attention to what I am doing.
I can tell you this...My Heritage has 6000 miles on it and on my 10 mile test ride, I didn't have any trouble finding neutral like I had on the other bikes I tested. Believe me, 4 hours of stop & go traffic and no neutral was brutal.
Sorry for the awful pic in my garage. I just got it
I love my 2018.
I ride solo and like to take multiple day trips.
With the saddlebags, a seat bag and luggage rack bag, I can go for a week trip and have everything I need.
I have kept mine stock except some things for comfort and luggage capacity that I have added. Engine guards with foot pegs, sissy bar and luggage rack. 500 miles days are not and issue.
Got almost 40000 miles and still running strong.
Enjoy your ride.
Keith..
I bought my 2018 107 a few weeks ago with 600 miles. I'm up to 1000 miles now....lol..!

Work and weather has really put a damper on my riding.
Enjoy your new ride.
