Default Chain conversion, sprocket offset?

I’ve dug around but unable to find the front and rear sprocket offset necessary for doing chain final drive conversion. None of the kits I’ve seen are model specific for the FXFBS, they’re all for 2018+ Softails… but if it matters, I’m asking for my FXFBS.

Looking to piece together my own kit but need to know which offsets/spacers I need.

Vulcanworks (?) shows sprockets from 1/4" to 1" offset. In 1/4" increments.
You 'could' ask them which one the kit comes with, 'like asking a mechanic how to do the repair'?

I looked into them and would want a certain rear sprocket and chain. 'Performance Machine'? Maybe has the one I like.

You may end up installing the front and 'then' ordering a rear sprocket spacer?
(I can make one but likely more cost effective to buy?

They did the work and don't seem to cost that much , $295.00 + or - depending on chain.

Yeah, the PM kit has a sprocket I like and does not come with a chain.
So have to add the chain to 345.00

The Revzilla kit "fits" my 240 rear FXDRS so they likely have different front offsets???

Mine has the 'narrow' primary so that might affect it?

They all sell the individual parts?

Thanks JM

I just started digging into this on Friday afternoon - there are numerous kits out there. I noticed Fuel Moto sells the the PM kit (out of stock currently) but I sent them an email asking about offsets since I already ordered a bunch of other stuff from them last week. Haven't heard back yet.

If not found here, I was planning to reach out to the other "kit" suppliers this week to see if I could get the answer.

I'm not crazy about going with an aluminum rear sprocket, also not crazy about the chain(s) offered with some of the other kits. Trying to find the right balance between weight and strength by putting together my own. I was planning to do all this a little further down the line (after I change wheels and suspension) but I've ordered the Man O War comp/sprocket and figured I'd do the chain conversion for my current setup while I'm in there.

Just needing to know the proper offset for the front sprocket and spacer for the rear.

I'm pretty sure mine are 1/2" front and rear. I have the Speed Kings kits on my bikes.

Thanks for the reply, I almost DMd you about it, but dug into your posts and saw that you had ordered a kit…

After reaching out to 7-8 suppliers + my service guy at the dealership (who’s all about tracking Harleys/King of the Baggers - he’s only done the conversion on baggers) I wasn’t able to get any information. I was either referred to the available kits or told I’d have to order a front and then measure the rear.

Sprocket Center was willing to be helpful since I’m doing the install myself and willing to report back to help them with details on a 2018+ softail kit. I ordered one each of their front sprockets (0.5 and 0.75) and rear spacers (0.5 and 0.875) yesterday. I also spoke with Lyndall, who are relatively close to me, they offer a couple other rear spacer widths or are willing to make the one necessary.

Depending on when it all arrives, it might not be until the 2nd week of January before I have the time to do the work, but I’ll report back with what works.

UPDATE: I received the 1/2" offset front sprocket and rear sprocket with a 3/8" spacer but I'm holding off until I can get a 1/2" rear spacer as well. I was originally led to believe that 90% of what I ordered was on hand but came to find out a lot of it was not in stock and thus I wait. I'd like to have as many options on hand as possible before I open it up as a lot of that stuff is single use + the cost of fluid + I'd prefer not to either deal with downtime or putting it all back together with the belt drive only to open it all back up again. So, trying to remain patient and still planning to update on the specs once I have it fitted up properly.

Just another data point, I am using ½” offset (front & rear) with Lyndall sprocket.

Meant to state it in my previous post, 2020 FXLRS.
