Default Harley Mustache Engine Guard vs Bung King

The bike being referenced is a ‘21 FXLRS.

I currently own the Harley Mustache Engine Guard but am debating on switching to the Bung King.

I’ve also debated on just adding the Bung King rear pegs but I’m not sure if they will work the same with the Mustache Guard as they do with the front Bung King.

And lastly does anyone know if the front and back set of Bung King hold the exhaust off the ground if laid down? I have the TBR Shorty Turnout. Does the Mustache Guard with rear Bung King hold the exhaust off the ground.

I’ve recently found out the Mustache Engine Guard alone does not hold the stock exhaust completely off the ground. It scratched the bottom of the heat shield.

Thanks for any input.

I can only comment on the front guard. Much cleaner than the Harley guard.

Will the front Bung King alone keep the exhaust off the ground if laid down?

I cant attest to that because I have rear peg sliders on my bike that I made from DKCustoms M8 Peg mounts and Bungking sportster peg sliders.
I accidentally rode over black ice in a parking lot a few weeks/month ago.
Both together kept my bike almost entirely off the ground and I picked the bike up and ride away with no real damage.
Absolutely worth the investment.

But since you have a lowrider S, you can use the actual bungking passenger peg sliders that they sell for the M8 Softail. They're 250$

I think I saw your post with the video! I may just switch to a full set of Bung King soon. Do you think they will keep the exhaust from getting damaged?

Also what damage did you end up with?

Probably.

Nothing, just replacement sliders. So like 45$?
No real damage was done to the bike.
