I got 2k on my last rear tire before it wouldn’t ‘pass inspection’. ~3500 before it was toast. Buddy has same bike and got ~4200 before it was to the threads.. so for all the dudes building these up to 131 or whatever.. they must just simply not ride. It was a simple question.. unless u don’t know the answer…

oh and that’s the response anyone answering my question with a question is gna get. Save ur cnn talk for Facebook

Getting 2k from a tire the moco is charging $365 for after tax is a complete rip. Seriously tho… rather than addressing the blatant rip off im getting told how to talk and a character assessment.. how about u answer the question or simply butt out.

seems as if the sales ppl at Harley’s infiltrated the forums… (the lead designer already is on an interview saying they have teams dedicated to such for r&d)

Kinda reminds me of this current political climate, where the left wants to tell everyone how they should act speak etc etc .. naw **** that

Lol it has nothing to do with politics bro, people just don't want to be snapped at like that. It's not like the questions were outrageous, there is a lot that goes into tire life. Brand, compound, riding style, cargo/passengers... it's hard to say. I've never really gotten out of the 5/6k range for rears, other people I know get 10/15k out of rears. Doesn't necessarily mean these dudes don't ride, one guy I know puts down about 40-50k a year and averages about 15k on his rear tires, dude whips a road glide like nothing, but he's doesn't -usually- rip hard from stops and he's not into stunting, occasional burnouts sure. I average around 25/30k a year, and as I said, my rears tend to burn up much quicker than most people. I also have a habit of gunning it, either from a stop or when already at speed, because it's fun.

As for the other stuff, like I said, nothing to do with politics, just general courtesy. I'm quite conservative in most regards, I'm often abrasive and colorful with my language, been that way since I was a kid and my play time in the desert only expanded my vocabulary. That said I know when to utilize my interpersonal skills, and when to be a dick. Most of the time, being a dick is unnecessary and will get you nowhere. I honestly hesitated to answer you, because of how you responded to others here. Only reason I was willing to share my experience was that I had this same issue and the wide range of responses frustrated the hell out of me, so I get that part. Treat people with common decency and they'll probably be willing to help with your questions... but by all means, if you feel you don't owe people a minimum level of respect, don't expect to get it in return.

Yes the tires are expensive to say the least. A friend of mine who is big on stunting runs Shinkos on his Street Bob because they are cheap and he burns through tires frequently, might be worth considering, though I hear mixed reviews on the quality of the tires.

I agree. One of the most disrespectful things someone can do is answer a question w a question or simply not answer it and tell someone how they outa act. I would never just be an a**hole to someone. I’m just not a fan of virtue signaling type stuff. Still amazing only one answer. But for that I thank u good sir.

2K? Try checking air pressure once in a while. Herer in East Tenn. where we ride the Dragon weekly and all the other roads are full of curves, everyone I know with Lowrider S's are getting 10-13K on a set.

I hear you, I don't believe anyone was intentionally being rude to you thought until they felt that you were being disrespectful to them. Just something I'd keep in mind here, I've had nothing but helpful people with my questions on the forums.

I've considered running Shinkos, however I got a solid deal with my new bike purchase and tires for life. Free tires as long as I own the bike (just have to pay mount/balancing), however the downside to this is that if I burn too them too quickly it won't be covered lol, usually I barely make the cutoff, sometimes I don't at all.

If you only get 2K on a set of tyres, you are either buying sh!te tyres, or abusing them.

Personally, I like Avon Cobras on HDs and typically get about 8K on the rear and 12K+ on the front. I am a fast, but smooth rider with a lot of advanced training so I am planning everything well in advance where possible and often use more acceleration sense to scrub off speed than braking. I don't do anything like burnouts or stunts.

All good info. I check my tire pressure every month or so but might have to be a little more vigilant abt it if people are getting that kinda mileage out of them on the same bike. I always wondered that abt the tire program but have heard exactly what u said (there’s a range). And yes I agree this site has keep THOUSANDS in my pocket with the info on here.

I went with the Michelin again so we’ll see. Would’ve liked more options but front was still good.

I’ve had issues with tires getting eaten on various bikes (Dunlop, shinkos, Michelin). With shinkos not as much an issue but at almost $400 these days for a rear Michelin I have to figure this out. Idk if it’s just city riding or what but hopefully the last one was just a dud
