Damn, sorry this happened to you. Wonder if it’s a metallurgy issue or manufacture defect or what. I’m gonna replace my ramp for good measure, but we shouldn’t have to be spending $350-400 to replace something that should be right from the factory.
I put the CR in mine. My oem ramp looks fine. Im in Canada but Id be willing to ship you my oem ramp for the cost of shipping. The CR ramp was worth the piece of mind in my 131.
Ive never heard of a recent compensator grenading like that,
This is a known problem with the M8 comps....
The MoCo switched from the Twin Cam comp #36500034A , to the #40100076 comp in the '17- current M8s....
The ramp breaking was originally noticed in modded M8 engines, but there have been many reports of OEM engines having the comp ramps break apart too...
It is prevalent enough that there are at least two companies making aftermarket ramps for the M8 compensator...
Looking at the size of those pieces of that ramp and I can't help but think what if one of those chunks wedged between the clutch basket and primary case and made the rear wheel lock up at 60 mph. No way would I put the stock HD one back in. I'd find the extra money somewhere because the alternative could end up costing a lot more.
