Bike cleaning without rain sock
I do use a pressure washer. The best way to keep water out of an open air cleaner is wash when bike is cold and throw a couple plastic bags over it.
But you have to be careful when around electrical connectors and wheel bearings.
If it's a Dry Filter, do not oil it. Tap it against something or lightly blow air through it to clean.
The 114 comes with an oem high flow air filter. Not sure if it's oiled. A drop or two of water on it will let you know.

- Do not strike filter element on a hard surface to dislodge dirt.
- Do not use air cleaner filter oil on the Harley-Davidson paper/wire mesh or synthetic air filter element
- Clean filter element.
- Wash the filter element and breather tubes in lukewarm water with a mild detergent.
- Synthetic element: Rinse filter element with clean water. The filter element is sufficiently clean when water running from the filter element appears clear.
- Allow filter element to air dry or use low-pressure compressed air from the inside.
- Paper/wire mesh element: Hold the filterelement up to a strong light source. The element is sufficiently clean when light is uniformly visible through the media.
- Replace the filter element if damaged or if filter media cannot be adequately cleaned.
