I'm likely going to do the same with my 23 Heritage. Already wasted money on a set of Harley Reach bars that don't do what I want.
Did you have to install any extenders to mount up the Helibars? Be that wiring, cable or brake line? I'm hoping I don't, but I can't quite tell if the stock wiring and such will reach, or not.
Just on this...
I have a Heritage - I swapped to Drag specialities beach bars - soooooo much more comfy! They pull back more than the Reach bars and for me (5'11") they're perfect.
Looking for wisdom from those in the know. I have a 2020 softail standard and would like to change the handlebars this winter. The mini apes dont feel good on the shoulders so I am looking at either T or Z bars. Other than looks, any difference in the ride. My shoulders start to ache after a while on the highway with the stock bars.
I used adjustable handlebar clamps P?N 5902228 at Dennis Kirk ($54) 0n my 23 FXST to get more pullback and now my wrists are much better.
@jspringator , can I trouble you for one more picture of your bars? This time straight on from the side.
I'm having fun with the new and improved bars from Helibars, which do not fit well at all. They've asked me for a picture of your bike's bars from the side, so they can compare the overall height between the two.
Bike is in the shop currently for a Bitubo Cartridge fork installation. I have the "HeliBarsŽ Horizon™ Rebel 700 multi-axis adjustable handlebar system for Harley Davidson".
