If it works for you, no reason to change. These bikes will corrode if not properly cared for. The solid plastic bottom probably helps too. Moisture can come up through concrete.

It's a very safe neighbourhood but I have the disc lock so it might as well be on there.
The bike comes back out exactly as it went in, sparkling
