So, here we are, approaching the dead of winter. I am preparing for my spring upgrades.
This year my main upgrade will be an engine guard for my 2019 Heritage. I need black gloss. I like the pointed mustache style from Lindby but that is what my wife wants on her 2021 Heritage. Of course I cannot have the same, so I am looking for something similar but I cannot find ANYTHING. I found some Bad Dad, Street Tank etc which have a great style but nothing for the 2018+ Heritage. Red-headed stepchild again!
Note: I have meathook style bars. I've seen pics of the standard rounded type engine guards on a bike with meathook bars and while they look ok together, I am just not sold on that mix.
Someone out there has something that looks badass. Help!
I noticed that you did not mention HD's Gloss black mustache bar, so I will show you what mine looks like. I do have Factory 47 meat hooks and I think they look great with HD's mustache bar, but badass? Maybe not so much.
Another option - perhaps your wife will like one of the other guards you mentioned, and she could install one of those, leaving you free to chose the Lindby bar.
I don't know that any crash bar can qualify for a description of "badass", but if there is one, my vote is the Bung King.
I don't like the look of the giant loops of typical crash bars. I think the mustache bar is a great alternative, and would have gone for it if it wasn't for finding the Bung King. But the Bung King looks (to me) like some hardcore offroad hardware. I originally planned to hang the skulls of my enemies off the ends of the bars, but ended up settling for some Denali D4's.
Stock H-D engine guard on my bike for an old school vibe.
Yep thats the ticket. I have those same bars. I like the black but I have chrome highway pegs to offset the all black of the engine guards. I like the old school look.
Hello from France...
I have also the HD's Gloss black mustache bar, and I like them because I can lay my feet on when long ride, but I prefere the OEM like Uncle G. for the classic look and the fact that I can put the soft lowers when it is cold or raining...
Bungking High Step Crash bar that's on my bike fits the Heritage.
I like it because its the best protection for the bike but it doesnt look all that big or even noticable.
It's only downside is that it's much of a foot rest because it's not positioned the way the engine guards are to be a good foot rest, and you cant add highway pegs to it.

Good luck in your search!
Nice pics! If my wife does decide on the Lindbar, then I might go for that HS Mustache bar or even the HD rounded bar. Not sure yet. I started this post in hoping to find something very obscure that few have with pointed edges. Again finding any aftermarket parts for a 2018+ Heritage is painful.
Not to change the subject, but three questions. That seat looks very comfortable. What is it? And I see your rear turn signals and bar are black. I did a quick search on Cycle Trader and that looks stock on the black trim bike. However the OEM parts list seems to show one chrome and one black for 2022. Not sure which is which but there is a $40 different between them. Uggh. Since my headlight and trim ring are black, and the front turn signals are black with smoked lenses, I am thinking I should get the rear to match. Even though I plan on dropping in other chrome trim here and there on the rest of the bike.
I MUST have that rounded lay-down license plate holder! Is that the Harley part someone mentioned the other day on here?
