Engines need a bit of back pressure to run right. Long straight open exhaust doesn't do much for performance. You smelling of gas/exhaust sounds like something is off.

Engines do not need backpressure. This is a Myth.
Engines need anti-reversion and exhaust that maintains velocity.
And most anti-reversion features, like Baffles, show up in a loss of torque when removed.
Reversion and slowing/stalling exhaust velocity is what causes problems.
That being said a set of straight pipes wouldnt cause a massive drop in power.
That dynochart is notably less power than stock. There is something wrong with that tune or the bike.
OP, the stock filter element for the Fat Bob 114 IS NOT a high flow air filter Element. The air cleaner hardware itself is high performance but the stock filter it comes with is not.
You need to replace the stock element with the K&N filter version Part Number: 29400293. Drag Specialties has one as well.

M8 engines are sensitive to exhaust changes, but that will be noticed more with torque at the low end. And while I agree the Dyno chart looks like garbage across the board, it really falls off at higher RPM's. Leaves me thinking the fuel tables and timing are not correct.
As bad as it looks, it should have never left the shop. Did anyone test ride it before releasing it?
It looks like there is some sort of baffle in there, I don't see any fiberglass material though. Thing is loud AF, louder than I wanted actually, didn't seem that bad in the videos heh heh.
I took a picture of a plug, ~950 miles on bike, last 20 of those miles with stage 2. They look wet even though the bike hasn't been started in about 36hrs. Maybe why my eyes were burning at stop lights?
