Kickstand puck
I've got a '18 Heritage out in the garage that I've had a few years. I've never had issues with the use/deployment of the jiffy stand. Yes, I do need to lean the bike to the right a skosh to deploy the jiffy stand. But I basically/naturally do that anyway when I put all the weight on the right leg so the left if free to deploy the stand. I can't see getting a puck under the stand's foot being an issue whether doing so while sitting on the bike or standing next to it.
Might the previous jiffy stand design be better? Perhaps... But I don't have any problems using the current design.

The Best of Harley-Davidson for Lifelong Riders
In addition, because of the stands foot angle, if the surface is rough or soft the foot digs in before its fully deployed into the locked position. Sometimes it can take quite an aggressive pull to the left to get the stand to fully extend.
If it were my bike it would just be a minor annoyance because, as 702 said, I have the strength to overcome it. However, for my wife and other riders that lack the strength, height, etc., it can be a big deal.
My 21 Ultra-Limited doesnt do this, my previous 08 Ultra-Classic didnt do it, her previous 20 Sportster 48 didnt do it, and no other H-D Ive ever ridden, besides the current model Heritage Classic, has done it.
