My custom DDL came in today. Went with all leather construction, gel pad and red flame stitching. It looks great, after tomorrow's ride I'll give a first impression review. Out of the box I don't think the rear kick up is high enough to give me adequate back support, but we'll see

Did a 400km/250 mile ride yesterday. I do sit higher by about 1", judging in relation to my 21" Freedom Windshield, might have to replace that with a 23" as I'm now getting buffeting.
The seat with a GEL insert felt firm at first, but once I was on it for 10 minutes it felt softer. The ride wasn't continuous, I had a lunch break and a coffee break, I had no discomfort with my sit bones but felt pressure on my tail bone, which I'm hoping will ease up once the seat is broken in.

Leather is nicer to sit on compared to vinyl, I never got that hot *** feeling that you get with vinyl. There was more support under my thighs as the front of the seat is wider. You will notice the increased leg room, but the reach to the handlebars felt the same.

My only wish is for the provision for a back rest, at 6'4" and 66yrs old, my back felt the strain after riding all day without one. If my wife ever rides again I'm sure she will appreciate the wider passenger area, but for me riding solo it looks a little too wide.

Red "Hot Head" stitching pattern, passenger seat is wide

All leather seat with Gel insert, sits about 1" higher

Shelling out this much cash for a seat was a difficult decision, but in the end it was well worth it.

I've put on about 1,500kms so far on this seat and I'm extremely happy with it. I can stay on the bike for a full tank run without squirming or getting hot spots. At first I missed having a back rest, but now I don't really miss it and the bike looks better without one, plus its easier to swing a leg over.

I think the Gel insert made all the difference for those long seat times, the leather I'm sure helps as well, but the gel is the GOAT
