M1chael why the confusing information?

"Today they pulled apart the Gear Shifter Assembly to do the following repairs: (a) replace the shifting mechanism, (b) replace the inner bearing race, (c) replace the vehicle speed sensor (why???), (d) replae the shift shaft seal, (e) replace the shift lever sleeve, (f) replace the drain plug, (g) replace all associated gaskets/o-rings."
As I mention later on in the thread, these repairs addressed the leak but did NOT address the shifting problem. The shifting problem continued well after until I hit about 1,700 miles on the bike. Sometime around 1,700 - 2,000 miles the problem subsided. As of today I have 21,000 miles on the bike and I don't have this issue anymore. I personally believe the issue had to do with machining tolerances within the transmission and after thousands of miles of wear, the metals smoothed each other out until the shifting became seamless. For anyone that says I finally learned how to shift, I rode a Dyna for 7 years prior to this bike without an issue and I also ride a Suzuki GSX-R 1000 without issue.

What the dealer told me with my problem, I had to inform him I been riding HD's for 50 years. I would never say that to someone. Shifting isn't rocket science. You might be the only guy who's bike fixed itself. Harley does know there are some problems with the shift mechanism, but won't admit. Mine got so bad they finally had to acknowledge.
