Are you talking full size floor boards? Like heritage? You can mount them with heritage brackets but that's forwards. There are the mini floorboards like Thrashin style. Those are direct swap with mid pegs. I like mine. I hated the pegs.
The minis are enough for me. The fulls have more real estate, but the minis still give me some room to move around. Also, some say the platform transmits vibrations... Well ya, so do pegs. My shoes have softer rubber than those. The full floorboards have those shock absorbing pads... But the minis have never bothered me.
Thrashin are a little pricey. I got cheaper ones because I wasn't sure if I would be satisfied. I expected to move to forward heritage boards... But no, I think the minis are good. My main complaint with ST are the pegs are too high. I like mids, and yes boards have more room. They are still high, but I just really disliked high mid pegs. The minis will probably stay.
I run Hd mini floor boards for mids and highway pegs. Seat choice is a big factor also. I run saddlemen explorer and hd tall boy seat. At 6’ tall this works for me. You Need a seat to raise you up. Thin footwear is a must for me to keep the mids.
