Like others have said the engine will
let you know when to shift.

After the break in period forget what the owners manual tells you. The manuals recommendations are way to conservative in my opinion.

With stock exhaust you will be surprised how high you shift.

These bikes have a fairly broad power band, so you have some latitude for shifting, and you can go by the feel and sound of the engine as people have said. I think most people ride in the 2.5k - 4K range. If you don’t already, consider rev matching when dropping down a gear for engine braking or to gain power for acceleration. It will smooth things out.

Took me 3 or 4 stoplites to figure out the HD since like all bikes the engine sound plus whether you are feeling happy or not is your shift point. No different than your other bikes for shift points.

Congrats on the new ride !!!
Nothing like adjusting from 12,000rpm redline to 5,500rpm lol coming from sport bikes prior to picking up my first harley last year it was definitely an adjustment.
