Shift Linkage to long.

Default Shift Linkage to long.
I bought an after market shift linkage, and when it came in the mail it was a little to long.
I installed it anyway. When up shifting the lever sticks, I tap the forward controller down to get it to return to the normal position. Is there a way to make an adjustment so it doesn't stick.

you might be able to take off the shifters and index them on the splined shaft... but if the shifter was sticking where was it sticking at

How much longer?
I would exchange it or shorten it if possible.

There should be threads on the ends where you can adjust the length...if not, return it b/c it's not going to work.

i bought linkage for a wideglide, which is longer, and cut and rethreaded the round rod to fit...
