This is a followup to a question I posed last year, with a little more detail.
Before I give up and take my 2008 FatBob in for this I wanted to ask the forum for feedback one more time.
It seems that a small % of my 1-2 shifts, and smaller yet 2-3 shifts, are for lack of a better word, a bit un-smooth.
That's being kind, the shift is downright like trying to put it through glass and sand. I pop the gear lever up, and there is a crunch and feedback as if a little ******* leprachaun is in there hitting it with a hammer back towards my foot.
The shift never misses, it always ends up in the next gear all right. And the other 90% of shifts are as smooth as silk.
This is NOT my error as I cannot duplicate this if I tried. If I granny shift or speed shift at any speed or RPM, it happens just about every 10-12 shifts.
And it seems to happen in perfect rotation, for example if the shift crunches I notice the following pattern post-crunch:
Funny you ask because this started happening immediately after the last clutch adjustment. Because it only happens every 10-12 shifts and because I did not ride very much the last 5 months, it has not been in my thoughts very much until recently. I would hate to have to go through the whole appt process this time of year to get it fixed.
Adjusting the clutch just isn't that hard especially after watching that video that was going around. Do a search for the video and start when the bike is completely cold.
