I tried to remove the **** on my fat boy and ended up having to put an external RAP shock back on my bike.
The new fat boy 114 does not have a RAP but has a new shock design, you may want to look into the 2025 fat boy setup.
yep found out today how its going to be done now going to drill the screw out tomorrow. just hope the square mount is metal not plastic. either way its coming off. Here hold my beer
To each, their own. I personally prefer that accessible **** than having to pull the seat like I do on my Heritage. No, it's not something I twiddle with often, but I like being able to do so easily.
ok first of all its not in the way, i dont mind seeing it. its i just wanted to put a new **** on it. i got it off but not the screw. i expected to see a few threads sticking out, but nope its right at the Main Bolt. which makes the damper work. no drilling it out with it on the bike sooo. i have a plan. hold my beer 1 more time by the way dont try this if you are not mechanical inclined.. part is drying tonight and the final going on tomorrow. will post pic of final when dry.i dont think it will ever come off again.. why in the hell didnt harley put a hex screw in it i dont know. has to be the onlyest Phillips screw on the bike, packed with red Loctite, or hammered in wield? some kids should not play with glue..

Same. What's the point in adjustability if you can't access an adjuster?
I have to switch back and forth between solo and 2 up settings all season. They just as easily could have mounted or relocated an access to the adjuster screw on the OEM shock adjuster.
I might upgrade the shock to an adjuster **** such as on Ohlins.

I see why now knowing what i now know, i would have approached this totally different. the way its made the outcome would have been the same most likely.
