Default Crash Bars/Highway Pegs for '25 Low Rider ST

Good afternoon! I recently picked up a '25 Low Rider ST and want a set of crashbars/highway pegs. I've narrowed it down to the OG Moto or Hogworkz setup. From anyone's experience, can you tell me if either one offers more ground clearance than the other (specs not available on both websites for comparison)? Either one function better for highway pegs?

Thanks!

Carl

It depends. That's the best you are going to get. I'm not short. 5-11.... I had the normal low crash bars... It was a stretch. And you are not stretching out forward... It's forward and out. I really needed some extensions to get something comfortable. I was able... But limited usability.

I looked at the higher ones like mid level. Mustache bars... But I don't like the looks. Those look usable though.

I went to boards and had to get rid of the crash bar because of interference. I settled on the Harley flat out bar. I never cared for those looks either... But honestly, pics don't do justice. It seemed like they just stuck out from nowhere, but they are very noticeable. They blend in with the ST. I can prop my legs up, not sure I will, but I am pretty happy.

But... I went cheap on bars... Cause they are bars. But mine looked a tad lower than other. Just trying to look at pics of like Bung King... Mine looked like an inch lower... At most. They advertise same width as bung king. Well I had to find out... So ripped the bike over and the bar was the first thing to touch... Not good. You want foldable pegs or boards to hit first... You want warning. Sure you can hang your heel out like many do, but that kinda sketched me out leaning over. You just eat protection from drops, or sliding down the road... Lifting a tire, or hitting a high point with a board will send you sliding down the road. Now with the flat out bar.... So much happier... That's for drops or sliding down the road.

So get what you like, but to get actual highway pegs that are comfortable for tou, you might have to get extensions to get you where you want to be.

i have the OG moto crash bar and love it. its a minimal design that does the job well. i'm 5'10" and its a bit of a stretch to get to them, but its doable and nice when you need to stretch out. its not actually the bar thats the obstacle, its the factory air cleaner. trying to get around that is a pain. the 2025 is closer to the bike than the previous years so you may not have that issue.

A buddy of mine installed the Hogworkz bar on his Street Bob and I would not recommend that one. It sits so low that it touches the ground before the rider pegs do and IMO is a disaster waiting to happen.

I went with the HD High bar and I think it looks fine and also can work as a highway bar.

Not sure if this is what you’re looking for, but i used the D K highway pegs on my 2023 low rider, and I love them. They’re well-made, and have a lot of adjustability.

Bung King High Step Crash Bar, and rear passenger peg sliders.
Saved my bike from being totaled in a 50mph highside.
I've slid out on black ice and no damage except ofc needing new sliders.

I drop my bike regularly because my coordination is ***.
Crashbars protect it every single time.

There really is anything much better unless its not ergo for you.
