May I ask why? Of all the things that HD has ever done that was a good idea, Belt drive was one of them (IMHO).
Welcome to the forum.

Depends on what you value most, acceleration or cruise.
The factory ratio of 2.06 to 1 is probably a good compromise
Going either up or down will effect performance in the other direction

I'm really looking for both but I want more get up and go, more engine mods and a tune will make up for what I lose in the chain. Also looking for more reliability vs a belt

chains look badass, but in my opinion, the belt is much better. theres guys with 150hp still running the belt with no issues. theres even stunt guys running the belt and not breaking them.

the belt requires little to no maintenance, its quiet, no mess, acts as a shock absorber and if it breaks by chance its not gonna break your primary or transmission case when it hits it. the only con to the belt is changing it.

in the end its up to you, id love to have a gold chain on my ST, but the belt is too convenient.

That't not exactly belt shredding performance, but good luck with your choices.

True. The belt drive is very reliable.

OP: Like eighteight said, there's no getting it both ways. Lower the ratio for better bottom end, and your engine is going to be spinning higher RPM at the top end.

Also, if you change the overall ratio from stock you need to reprogram the ECM for your speedometer to work accurately.
